The main building of Glenmore Activity Centre was opened to the general public in September 1978, as the first recreation centre of this type in the Lisburn City Council area. In phase two of the development, two squash courts were built adjacent to the main building. These were opened in November 1979.
With its tranquil situation and pleasant surroundings in the heart of Lagan Valley at Hilden, the centre offers many and varied activities with its very impressive and well-designed facilities.
The facilities include: A main sports hall, fitness suite, committee room, 1 squash court, a minor room for weight training and rock group practice, 2 outdoor grass soccer pitches, childrenŐs playground, 3 male changing rooms and 2 female changing rooms, both with shower facilities, social area with TV and video, video games machine, confectionery and drinks vending machine, fully fitted kitchen and offices.
Glenmore Clubs: badminton, junior and senior soccer, tae-kwondo, gymnastics, youth club
Saturday club: trampoline club, karate club, and toddlers club.
Birthday parties: Our birthday packages consist of 2 hours: 1 hour in the main hall with bouncy castle, bikes, scooter, soft play equipment, soccer/uni hockey, disco. 2nd hour is in the party room for food. We have a fully fitted kitchen, where you can do your own catering, or if you prefer we will organise the catering for you. Party invitations are included. Early booking is advisable.
Fitness suite: Equipped with: treadmills, rowing machines, fixed weight resistance machines, exercise cycles, steppers, and twisters.
The main sports hall may also be booked for special events e.g. concerts, dog shows, boxing etc. For further information on the facilities or activities mentioned above, do not hesitate to contact the Centre.
