Chairman's Remarks
Lisburn City Council porvides a wide spread of "top of the range" leisure and sporting facilities for an ever increasing and demanding population. It is important that these assets are continually assessed and reviewed in order to cater for all the needs and requirements of those who aspire to compete at a high level in sport.
The city has a long and honourable history of sucess in sport and continues to provide an outlet for a multitude of disciplines. An easy reference guide to what is available can be had via the Directory of Sport.
Affiliation to Sport Lisburn should be an essential for all sport clubs that are based within the City. All kinds of assistance is available including coaching, help with travel and grant aid. We can be contacted by e-mail to adrian.baron@lisburn.gov.uk or by referring to our website at www.sportlisburn.com.
All of the people involved in Sport Lisburn give their time and 'know how' on a voluntary basis and welcome any help that may benefit the development of sport in the city. Sport Lisburn enjoys a very healthy relationship with the Council's Leisure Services Department who deliver a first class back up service. Sport is no longer a luxury, it i simportant in character formation and has huge social and health benefits.
